5 Card Daily Draw – Confused Heart

September 24, 2011 by Art of Cartomancy

I am continuing with my daily card draws in order to acquire some practice with general readings.  I set my intention that Lenormand card 28, the Gentleman, should represent myself, and asked the cards what my day would be like today.

The Tree from yesterday’s daily draw shows up again connecting the energy from yesterday, but Birds shows that the focus today will be on verbal rather than written communication.

The Clouds bring confusion and unpredictability, and the heart is about feelings.  It seems I will feel uncertain or torn about something; perhaps in connection with a phone call or verbal message regarding a health or spiritual matter.

The progression from the healthy, balanced Tree to the instability of the Clouds shows a definite change in moods from yesterday.  I have a feeling that today is not going to be as balanced and productive as yesterday.  I’m already feeling a wee cranky this morning.

It occurs to me that the Birds is a couple or a relationship, and the Tree indicates that it is healthy and balanced.  The Clouds and the Heart show that the Gentleman is in emotional turmoil regarding the health of the relationship.  I’m currently single, but I suppose these cards could refer to a friendship.

It also occurs to me that Tree next to Gentleman could refer to my own health.  The Birds relates to the mouth and throat.  Clouds next to Gentleman may show me feeling irritable today.  I wonder if these cards predict a scratchy throat or even a toothache.  It’s true I have a tooth that gives me grief from time to time, and I’ve put off seeing the dentist for longer than I should.

There are several diverse interpretations possible for these cards, and that is exactly what I find so maddeningly frustrating about general readings.  I suppose I’ll just have to wait until the end of the day to know which if any of my interpretation will apply.

Update: Sept 25, 2011
As predicted, yesterday was a miserable day.  I was invited to dinner last night at a friend’s house, and decided to bake a loaf of artisan bread to take along.  Around 11:00 a.m. I made a gorgeous dough which I covered and stuck in the oven to rise free from drafts.

Then I ran out to do a few errands.  While I was gone, my roommate came home for lunch and set the oven on preheat for a frozen dinner without bothering to look inside.  She did not realize the dough was in the the oven until after it was fully preheated, and the dough was ruined. I can only be grateful that I used a stainless steel bowl.  Can you imagine the disaster if I had put the dough in the oven to rise in a plastic bowl?

As for yesterday’s daily reading: something I ate at my friend’s house did not agree with me (Birds + Tree) and I was up half the night with a ferocious case of heartburn (Clouds + Heart).
