Kelly is experiencing financial problems due to an adjustable mortgage on her home that has skyrocketed over the past few months. The real estate market has crashed in the area, and she would not be able to sell the home for what she owes on it.
Houses in the area that are twice the size, are available for rental at half of what she’s paying on her monthly mortgage, and she’s considering giving up her home to the bank and moving into a rental. She asked me to ask the Lenormand Oracle about the result of going into foreclosure.
For this reading I’m using the No Layout method from The Secrets of the Lenormand Oracle. I’ve chosen 04 The House as the key card to represent the foreclosure on the home.
Here are the cards I drew:
10-Scythe + 6-Clouds + 8-Coffin + 4-House + 33-Key + 23-Mice + 5-Tree
Scythe + Clouds + Coffin = These cards represent the recent past, and show confusion regarding a decision to end or give up something. Also, the decision brings an end to the confusion and a very unstable situation. This makes sense since Kelly is very confused about whether or not to give up her home. The Coffin falling next to the house suggests the foreclosure and moving into a new home.
Key + Mice + Tree = these cards represent the result of the foreclosure, and show some problems, but also recovery. The Key shows that the foreclosure seems like the right thing to do. The Mice show stress and anxiety which I think is to be expected when taking such drastic action. The Tree suggests eventual recovery.
These cards suggest that the foreclosure will be stressful, but it seems to be the best course of action, and in the end Kelly will be better off letting the house go.
When I first interpreted this readings, I was unsure about how to incorporate the final card (05 The Tree), and asked Sylvie for help. She confirmed that The Tree showed eventual recovery, and could also indicate that Kelly would be a homeowner again sometime in the future.
Well that turned out to be exactly true. Kelly is going to give up her current home, and her dad is going to help her purchase a new home in his name. I think The Key suggests this possible ‘happy twist’ of fate, as Spirit Song mentions in her comment below, and The Mice shows her excitement about buying a new house.
