Daily Card Draw – The Letter + The Ship

January 19, 2008 by Art of Cartomancy

I’ve drawn The Ship so many times during the past week as a daily card, I had to go back to make sure I did not already draw this particular combination.  🙂

The Letter shows that some news is on the way in written form such as a letter, an email, a document, etc.  The Ship suggests distance and travel, so these cards could represent some long-distance mail, or a package, is on the way.

These cards also make me think of news about travel, travel papers, or information about my car,  since The Ship can denote travel or represent a mode of transportation.  A lot of possible interpretations spring to mind such as a passport, a boarding pass, a travel ticket, a car bill or payment, etc.  If I had pulled these cards yesterday, I would have interpreted them as referring to moving my blog.

Yesterday morning I pulled The Crossroads and The Fox, and yesterday was a very busy work day with some added responsibilities that required both multi-tasking  and crafty decision-making.  So yesterday’s cards were a good indication of how my day would go.  I wonder what’s in store for me today with The Letter and The Ship!

    Hi Aristede-
I love all your possibilities for this combo 🙂 especially boarding pass or passport! I’ll have to remember that one. Most likely word from far away..
ps- also really like your graphic header for the blog 🙂

    Hi LisaW,

I was just brainstorming the possible combos, but I think in certain situations they could easily apply.

I agree that today’s cards most likely represent correspondence from a distance. I’m not expecting anything, but I do have friends and family in far away places.

I’m glad you like my blog header. I recently acquired the Blue Owl deck which I photographed to make the header. 🙂

    Hi Aristede,

My feeling that it could be referring to a specific piece of paper being for your car or to get you to go somewhere. Very enygmatic isn’t it? let us know what happened later on 🙂

    Hi Sylvie,

Yes, it seems a little tricky because so many possible meanings for the card combinations spring to mind.

I notice that for the daily two-card draws, your interpretation is usually very practical, and you’re always right on the mark.

I think I need to look at my daily cards in a more practical way. I’m always learning something new! Thank you!

I will definitely let you know what happens later.
